We’ve all heard the saying: “Think global. Buy local.” But what does it really mean to “buy local”?
To us, a business that has a local presence — a local store or office, providing local jobs, paying local taxes, making contributions to the local nonprofit community — is a local business. And if you want to build a stronger local economy and better quality of life, that’s the business you should favor.
After all, the national chain store provides jobs and supports the local tax base. The chain restaurant franchise is owned by a local businessperson.
